i hate earthlink
still no internets. Sorry! It's not my fault! I tried to get phone and internet from Earthlink and, three weeks later, after STILL not having been hooked up, I canceled the service and ordered AT&T instead. More expensive but probably worth it. Then normal atlas(t) service may well resume. Sigh.
Good luck with AT&T. I had them for a week along with cell phone service. I ditched them the first minute I could and am paying out the wazoo for the privilege of cancelling my service with them.

I hear you! I ended up cancelling Earthlink after trying in vain for a month to get Internet service moved to my new place. I got AT&T as well, took three days to install and I have been very happy ever since.

I really hate Earthlink! I was a dial-up customer of theirs for years. When I switched to DSL, Earthlink merged my account with another person. Earthlink continued to bill me for dial-up service, which I wasn't using, and billed the other individual for my DSL service. I tried for two months to get Earthlink to separate the accounts and bill me appropriately for my own account. Their outsourced customer service was useless. Earthlink then disconnected me from my DSL service and cut off my access to my Earthlink e-mail accounts without warning. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and with my local congressman. I also plan to file a complaint with the FTC. I am considering filing a suit with small claims court. What actions have others taken? I switched to AT&T, but someone (Earthlink?) has hi-jacked my DSL line so that I can't connect to AT&T - very bizarre.

Yes. I also hate Earthlink.net. They've given me the most chronically unsatisfactory backup and consistently bad service that I've ever had from any company-- anywhere-- ever. I won't go into the details-- because it's just too much negative energy. It's revisiting a lost cause and lost time.
I'm amazed that I've put up with their crappy service for so long... too many years of negativity.
As a result, I've hooked up with Roadrunner/Time Warner and, also, use Mac.com email. Both are far superior to Earthcrap. I've been using mac.com emails for many months and I've been very satisfied with their service. I'm still monitoring my new Roadrunner service after several months. I'll give a critique on them later.
