map animation viii

this one maps the growth of Walmart in the past 40 or 50 years. Wow. Effective. And scary. It's really like a cancer.

This is probably because flowingdata.com, which did the first animation, made the code available. Very cool.

The second one is the original, as I understand it. The animation goes along with a recently revised paper and the data can be downloaded too http://www.econ.umn.edu/~holmes/research.html
